Great work on this. You need to write more and definitely more on this family. The wife’s perspective wold be great but I want a sequel! This is also very cinematic. It would make a great opening sequence to a film.

I really liked the slightly panicked conversational tone of this piece. It made it easy to get into and made the reader feel some serious tension at times. Great job Dan. I must admit a bit of disappointment that no one important died. But I’ll get over that.

Definately want to hear more. The action was great. I think the father’s reactions were very realistic, as was his tenuous grip on reality at times. Adam PS - Great title too.

lol. I understand. I commend all of you who have written these. World War Z was an inspirational book (is that weird to say??). I’ve got stories in my head that I’d love to get down on paper some day but….ooh…look…something shiney!!!!!

Good eye. I originally wrote the story in third person, but then I thought it would work better in first, so I went through and made all of the required changes…except I spaced on that one. I’ve been debating whether or not to bug someone to change it on the site, but I’m too lazy to even do that.

GREAT story. I really enjoyed reading it.

One thing, though…you said, “He was covered in blood, and I was horrified to see that my left arm was missing below the elbow.” Don’t you mean HIS left arm? That part confused me a bit.

nice pacing, nice build of chracter profiles. i’d rather not see them die, because they seem like such a nice family :( but then again, it is a zombie story.
