ACCOUNTING
October 22, 2010  Announcements

Readers and writers,

Just wanted to give another thanks to the support we’ve seen over these past nearly-four-years. Our readership is up to levels we never really believed possible when this project started in March of 2007. We thought it might be fun to share some of the current statistics with regards to the top-viewed stories on the site. Our current all-time top five, preceded by their number of viewers:

1. 5,424 – ISLANDS by Pete Bevan
2. 4,857 – SWEET LIKE MAPLE SUGAR by Jeffrey DeRego
3. 4,619 – THE NEW VIKINGS by Kevin Fortune
4. 4,196 – AFTER SCHOOL SPECIAL by James F. Reilly
5. 4,117 – THOSE WHO FALL IN SILENCE by Patrick M. Tracy

Impressive numbers. For all of our authors, the average readership of a story on the site stands at right around 1,100 views. We’ve also seen some mainstream publishing success in the last year, with one of our authors getting a story from our site into an anthology alongside Max Brooks and Robert Kirkman. We can only hope that our site helped with Bret’s success.

We have a few plans for tweaking the site and perhaps the form of the contest in the months to come, and may tap a few of our more dedicated supporters for ideas and/or help.

Again, our thanks to you all.

-ed.
